Patient Safety Alert: eRx Network and Kroger/Safeway Pharmacy Connectivity Issue, March 26, 2021


Dear Valued Client,

 

We recently received a message from our vendor, NewCrop, notifying us of a connectivity issue that may have caused potential patient safety issues related to e-prescribing. 


Specifically, on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at 6:17pm, NewCrop notified us that:


Beginning around 3:45 PM ET on March 25, 2021, some E-Prescribing messages sent to eRx Network and Kroger Pharmacies may receive errors or be delayed. This issue is limited to Pharmacies connected to Surescripts through eRx Network and Kroger Pharmacies, due to eRx Network and Kroger Pharmacies' intermittent connectivity issues.


Shortly, thereafter, on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 7:59am, NewCrop notified us with the following resolution:

Start Time: March 25, 2021, 3:45 PM ET

End Time: March 26, 2021, 12:15 AM ET

Scope: Beginning around 3:45 PM ET on March 25, 2021, E-Prescribing messages sent to eRx Network and Kroger Pharmacies may have encountered errors due to eRx Network and Kroger Pharmacies' intermittent connectivity issues.

eRx Network and Kroger/Safeway Pharmacy have implemented a fix and have reported the issue to be resolved. 12:15 AM ET on March 26, 2021, Surescripts has confirmed that transactions are transmitting as normal. 


Recommended Actions: If your original attempted transaction received an error, please reattempt now that the issue has been reported as resolved.
